The Voyager name has been defunct for several years or so, but Chrysler has now revived it to serve the roles that were occupied by the base and fleet trims of the Chrysler Pacifica. In some ways, this Voyager is all-new, but drivers familiar with last year’s Pacifica L and LX will notice many similarities. The Voyager offers strong V6 performance, seating for seven passengers and up to more than 140 cubic feet of storage.

Both models get a Uconnect 4 infotainment setup with a 7.0-inch color touchscreen. Connectivity includes USB, Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The LX upgrades the basic air conditioning to a triple-zone climate control system. The L trim provides seating for eight since it has a second-row bench seat. The LX instead has second-row captain’s chairs, which means that seating is reduced to seven. The third row is a Stow ‘n Go bench, which makes it easy to access the base 32.3 cubic foot cargo area, which can be extended to 140.5 with the seat folded.

ESS stands for engine start-stop. Enabled, it will automatically shut the engine off when you come to a stop and turn it back on when you step on the gas pedal. ESS improves fuel performance in certain driving conditions, such as stop-and-go traffic. An engine block heater is an option at every trim level.
