Performance
The standard powertrain on the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged 6-cylinder engine that produces an impressive 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque. This makes it one of the fastest large SUVs currently available. An 8-speed automatic transmission rows through the gears fast enough to get this 7,300-pound SUV from 0 mph to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. You'd think a vehicle that big would have terrible fuel economy. On the contrary, the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer achieves 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.
The 2025 GMC Yukon holds its own in the powertrain category with a couple of V8 engines. The standard engine is a 5.3-liter V8 that produces 355 horsepower. Step up to the Denali trim and you get a 6.2-liter V8 with a stout 420 horsepower. We were surprised to find out that even with two more cylinders than the Jeep, the Yukon Denali only manages to get from 0 mph to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds. Fuel economy is also unremarkable, rated at 14 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway, far behind what the Wagoneer can do.
Interior
The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer's luxurious nature continues to impress in the cabin area. Whether you plan on using your Wagoneer for work, pleasure, or anything in between, all possibilities are viable in this capable SUV. Inside, you'll find a 10.1-inch center stack screen and a massive 10.3-inch digital gauge display in the instrument cluster. Wireless smartphone connectivity with a wireless charging pad is the perfect pair for the get-in-and-go type of driver.
You'll find what you would expect from a GMC SUV in the Yukon. Heated seats, leather trim, a moonroof, and the like. What you won't find is anything unique to any other GMC vehicle. They haven't done the work to really get to know their buyers. For this reason, the 2025 GMC Yukon does not have a way to connect with its buyers the way the Wagoneer does.
Bottom Line
What does the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer do differently from the 2025 GMC Yukon? Jeep shaped the Wagoneer to be the perfect companion for every active lifestyle. From the low-range gearbox to the hill descent control, all of these thoughtful choices were made with you in mind. The Yukon proves to be just another SUV in GMC's lineup with no clear angle.
