2025 Dodge Charger vs 2025 Ford Mustang

Dodge decided that 2025 was going to be their year, and we couldn't agree more. They took all of the modern features that people want (and some of the ones we didn't even know we wanted) and ran with them to create the best Charger we've seen as of yet. Looking at the Mustang in comparison, we can't help but feel that not as much effort was put into making that much of a difference by Ford for the coming model year.

Performance

Take what you thought you knew about the Charger and throw it out the rear window because everything is better than ever before. Dodge really sought to start the year off with a bang by introducing 4 incredible powertrain types: two gas-powered engines, and two all-electric platforms:

Standard Output SIXPACK engine with 420 HP
High Output SIXPACK engine with 550 HP
    R/T Electric with 496 HP
Next-Gen Charger Daytona Scat Pack with 670 combined HP

After choosing your desired powertrain, you'll get to experience highly innovative driving features that go far beyond what you'll find in your typical build. Take the 2025 Charger's multi-link rear suspension system, for instance. This system, which is commonly found in vehicles designed for performance, has been upgraded with negative chamber induction and forged aluminum links to enhance your strength and grip. The Charger Daytona model's rigid chassis has been made 50% stiffer, there's a "Power Shot" button that gives you a 40-HP boost for 15 seconds, and there's even a drive mode dedicated to doing donuts! There's a laundry list of enhancements for the new Charger that make it one of the most fun cars we've ever witnessed.

Next to the Charger's incredible powertrain lineup, it's underwhelming to see that the Mustang can't even break 500 HP. The standard 2.3L EcoBoost is only capable of 315 HP, but the upgraded 5.0L V8 brings that up to at least 480. Even if you go with the modified Coyote V8 engine, though, you're only getting as much as 500 HP. You get your usual independent suspension systems, Brembo brakes, and everything else that's already been done countless times before. Needless to say, the new 2025 Charger delivers a truly unique experience that's worth getting excited about, unlike the newest Mustang.

Safety Features

Whether you go with the Charger or Mustang, you can at least rest assured that you'll receive your standard safety and driver-assist package either way. You won't have to worry about missing out on collision avoidance systems, lane guidance, and blind spot monitoring which is great news for such high-performance vehicles when safety while going on joyrides is critical. The one difference between the two is that the new Charger offers an available curb-side camera that comes in handy so you don't scuff your expensive tires or cause a bit of unfortunate damage.

Interior

If you know anything about muscle cars, you know that your personal performance is everything. Not only does the new 2025 Charger offer a massive 16-inch digital driver display containing every aspect of your rig, but it's also fully customizable so you can adjust it to your exact needs. The next crucial thing about owning a muscle car is clout, and the Charger makes it easy for you to show off your best drives with the Driver Experience Recorder which takes footage from a 1080p, 60fps front-facing camera that you can collect on a flash drive to go. These recordings capture everything, including sound!

The new Mustang doesn't have anything quite as fancy as a high-quality front-facing camera. Even the driver display is quite smaller in comparison with only 12.4 inches of screen space. The only thing Ford did right for this ride is remembering to include bucket seats and themed cabin colors, but you can also get those in the Charger plus a lot more.>/p>

Bottom Line

There are a ton of things to look forward to in the new 2025 Dodge Charger that we didn't have time to cover in this comparative review. To summarize, this particular muscle car is a game changer with a new take on high-performance powertrains and technology. The Mustang is just another Mustang, and that's all there is to it.
