Performance

The 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona EV finally lives up to its name - it can literally be charged! Dodge adapted the savage personality that buyers love to the EV era. Powering this brute is a 400-volt battery-powered setup connected to two electric powertrains, one on each axle, giving it something no muscle car has ever had before: standard all-wheel drive. Don't think that it's now just a big soft grand tourer, as Dodge is adding a new "line-lock" feature for 2026 that will allow this bruiser to achieve tire-shredding burnouts. There are two power levels currently available. The standard setup produces an impressive 496 horsepower that allows the Daytona to charge 0 to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds. Buyers looking for more oomph can opt for the Scat Pack, which bumps the power output to a mind-bending 670 horsepower. This means it can rocket from 0 mph to 60 mph in a mind-bending 3.3 seconds.

While the 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E bears the name of a performance car, it misses the mark on hard numbers compared to the Charger Daytona. The top spec performance-oriented GT model has a dual motor setup similar to Dodge; however, it's only good for 480 horsepower, a major deficit even when compared to the Daytona's standard 496 horsepower. Worse still, there's nothing in the Mach-E range to go against the mighty Daytona Scat Pack.

Interior

The 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona is as new on the inside as it is on the outside. The interior is thoughtfully laid out with intuitive controls and a retro feel straight out of the classic 1968 Charger. A "pistol grip" shifter inspired by that era handles direction control and a tasteful 12.3-inch center touchscreen adds a modern touch. The instruments can be viewed on two screen sizes either 10.3 inches or a massive 16-inch screen that nearly touches the one in the center.

The cabin of the 2025 Mustang Mach-E is also fairly modern, however, it's not as fluid. A tiny instrument panel sits on top of the dash and looks strange next to the gargantuan 15.5-inch touchscreen that drivers must use to control the vast majority of functions. This means scrolling through multiple menus and settings, which is tough to do while trying to drive. The Ioniq 5 is a no-compromise triumph of form and function, whereas the Ford has the function but falls short on form.

Bottom Line

Ford will give you the run-around with the Mach-E, framing it up to be the fanciest EV you've ever seen while hiding how far it's strayed from the normal Mustang. Dodge stayed true to its roots and created the spectacular Charger Daytona, which is a real embodiment of everything we love about the Dodge brand on a reliable and stylish all-electric platform.
