Trim Levels
There are six trim levels available on the 2019 Ram 1500. The base trim model is the Tradesman, which is followed by the Bighorn and Rebel trims. More luxurious trims include the Laramie, Longhorn, and Limited. The top four trims have chrome bumpers while the Tradesman and Bighorn trims have black colored bumpers. The Rebel trim has the letters R-A-M on the back, while the other trim levels use the iconic ram's head badge. The two lowest trims are equipped with halogen lights while the Rebel and Laramie have LED lights. The Longhorn and Limited trims have premium LED headlights. The Tradesman is the only trim without fog lights. The Bighorn, Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, and Limited trims have dual exhaust systems and aluminum wheels, and the Tradesman trim is outfitted with steel wheels.
Engine
The 2019 Ram 1500 has two reliable engines with a few different configurations as well. Depending on your engine choice, you'll have Ram's eTorque technology, which allows the engine to increase the torque while maintaining its efficiency. The first engine option is the 3.6-liter Pentastar, which is equipped with eTorque technology. This engine produces 305 horsepower 269 pounds per foot of torque. The second engine has two configuration options, the V-8 Hemi and V-8 Hemi with eTorque, which both produce 395 horsepower. They also have the same 410 pound-feet of torque. However, the eTorque version has a better towing rating than the standard V-8 Hemi.
Performance
When it comes to pickup trucks, towing capability is a significant factor when it comes to measuring performance, and the 2019 Ram 1500 raises the bar in that regard. With the correct trim and engine option, the Ram can tow up to an incredible 12,750 pounds. The truck's shock absorbing system and coil suspension give the driver and passengers a gentler ride, even on uneven roads.
Interior
The 2019 Ram 1500's interior takes what many models are offering today and improves on what they have created. Instead of an 8.4-inch touch screen, the Ram is built with a 12-inch vertical touch screen. The large screen's user interface also allows for split screen functionality. You can stay connected and entertained with multiple USB ports, Apple CarPlay, and SiriusXM radio connectivity. The cabin area also includes several small storage spaces.
Safety Features
This year's model release boasts over 100 standard or optional safety and security features. The truck has a blind spot monitoring system that also detects and monitors anything you are towing. This new feature is a huge advancement over standard blind spot monitoring systems. An optional guided parking system will handle the steering while you control the acceleration, making parallel parking much simpler. The safety system monitors a complete 360-degrees around the truck, alerting you to any possible dangers or accidents.
